Topographic Surveys

G.V. Hull & Associates undertake numerous topographic surveys for local Councils, architects, and developers. Topographic surveying may also be known by CAD operators as Terrain Modelling. The surveyor’s aim is to create a plan (or map) of a parcel of land which indicates rises and falls in the level of the land, shows contours which indicate points of equal height, and displays all the major features of the land which may affect the subsequent design stage of the proposed development.

Cadastral Surveys

At G.V.HULL & ASSOCIATES, cadastral surveys are our major pastime – and they represent 80% of all work performed by our surveyors. A cadastral survey involves the creation of new boundaries or the redefinition of existing land boundaries, and can be undertaken for a multitude of reasons

Identification Surveys

G.V.Hull & Associates undertake numerous identification surveys for local Councils, solicitors, architects, builders and developers. Identification Surveys, as they are known in New South Wales, have developed over the years as an ‘insurance policy’ for finance bodies, council building inspectors or people intending to purchase property, and provide some security and confidence that there are no special problems associated with the property such as encroachments or encumbrances.

Engineering Surveys

A major part of the workload at G.V.Hull & Associates involves surveys for the design of road and driveways, stormwater systems, sewer and water main reticulation, bridges, wharves and jetties, gridline setout for high rise buildings or large factories and warehouses, ‘Works as Executed’ drawings etc. The list goes on. In New South Wales, a surveyor need not be licensed by the Board of Surveyors to conduct himself on an engineering survey. However, most survey firms in New South Wales are involved in some way with engineering works.

Medium Density Development

G.V. HULL & ASSOCIATES undertake a number of different services relating to medium density development. By medium density development we mean development which increases the density of population in existing urban areas, or development on land which is zoned to allow for a higher population density. The type of housing which fits this description are dual occupancy, town houses, villas and cluster homes and high rise apartment buildings
